Jim launched Handy and Sons, LLC, in March of 2005. His greatest motivation was to bring home-care solutions to homeowners who, for whatever reason, couldn’t manage the maintenance tasks on their own. Having his energetic and hardworking sons at his side, where they’ve been throughout most of their years, adds special meaning to his work.

Jim got his start in the handyman and lawn care business working for a St. Paul, Minn.-based parish while attending college. Jim worked his way up to building and grounds manager with responsibility for maintaining two school buildings, a rectory, a rental hall and a gymnasium. At the same time, Jim worked at a local lumberyard where he picked up knowledge and skills in the fields of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and landscaping.

After getting married, Jim left the home maintenance profession for a career in finance and accounting. But, throughout that 25-year career, Jim retained his loved for fixing things around the house and yard. He has built sheds, rooms,

closets, decks, play structures, shelves, garages, fences and arbors. He’s landscaped yards, trimmed trees, dug gardens, built retaining walls and finished basements. He’s replaced sinks, counters, doors, door handles and windows. Jim does it all, and he can do it for you!

Jim is a husband, father, small businessman and part-time farmer serving the communities surrounding Bloomington and Mankato, Minnesota. He donates his time to his parish men’s club and school booster clubs; he’s also a former coach for youth sports.
